i am pleased one of my hand sculptures is part of this fascinating alice and louis koch collection exhibition at the swiss national museum. telling the story of the finger ring from historical egyptian rings, roman rings, medieval rings to contemporary rings of the 20th and 21st century.
alice and louis koch were patrons of the arts and jewelers. by 1909 they had collected 1,722 rings from antiquity to 1900. four generations later 600 rings of the 20th and 21st century were added. beatriz chadour-sampson studied art history, classical archaeology and italian philology at the university of east anglia, and at the university of münster, germany. her doctoral thesis was on the italian renaissance goldsmith antonio gentili da faenza.
