alice and louis koch collection of 20th and 21st century finger rings at the swiss national museum - featuring a hand sculpture by ute decker

i am pleased one of my hand sculptures is part of this fascinating  alice and louis koch collection exhibition at the  swiss national museum. telling the story of the finger ring  from historical  egyptian rings, roman rings, medieval rings to contemporary rings of the 20th and 21st century.

alice and louis koch were patrons of the arts and jewelers. by 1909 they had collected 1,722 rings from antiquity to 1900. four generations later 600 rings of the 20th and 21st century were added. "despite its rigidly defined form, the finger ring has been subject to an incredible wealth of interpretations…" louis koch (1862-1930)
