inspired by a love of the fleeting yet powerful gestures of japanese calligraphy
Sculptures that effortlessly pirouette in space each piece remains fundamental and pure in form - like the fleeting movement of a calligrapher’s hand, made material.
The Calligraphy series explores the intuitive flow of the artist’s hand, translating a fleeting gesture - the spontaneity of a single brushstroke, into the enduring medium of wearable sculpture.
Each piece unfolds in a series of minimalist curves that gracefully dance with light and shadow.
By consciously exploring the "ma-mu" (the Japanese concept of negative space), the void becomes as vital as the form itself.
Much like a rhythmic pause in a musical score, these silent intervals invite the viewer to step away from the cacophony of the modern world and find a moment of calming yet energizing repose. -
